Abstract
Objective To explore the preventive and health-care effects of Pyracantha on cardiovascular diseases. Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups and fed respectively standard feed, standard feed supplemented with 15% pyracantha fruit powder, high-fat feed, and high-fat feed supplemented with 15% pyracantha fruit powder. After 10 weeks, plasma total cholesterol TC, triglyceride TG, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol HDL-C, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol LDL-C, apolipoprotein apoA, apoB, whole blood specific viscosity, plasma specific viscosity, and red blood cell pressure were measured. product, calculate fibrinogen viscosity, red blood cell aggregation index, and measure cardiac enzyme activity. Results The levels of HDL-C and apoA in the Pyracantha group and Pyracantha high-fat group were significantly higher than those in the normal control group and high-fat group, and the apoB/apoA ratio was significantly lower than that in the control group. Pyracantha can significantly reduce TG and TC in animals fed a high-fat diet. , whole blood specific viscosity, plasma specific viscosity, fibrinogen specific viscosity, red blood cell aggregation index and cardiac enzyme activity. Conclusion Pyracantha can reduce blood lipids in rats on a high-fat diet, improve lipoprotein metabolism and blood flow status in rats on a high-fat diet, protect myocardium, and has certain preventive and health-care effects on cardiovascular disease in rats.
