Abstract

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system that seriously threatens the physical and mental health of middle-aged and elderly people. The current understanding of its pathogenesis is dominated by the amyloid theory. This theory believes that amyloid (¦Â-amyloid, A¦Â) Deposition is the central link in the pathogenesis of AD; measures to reduce A¦Â deposition or clear formed amyloid plaques can prevent and treat AD. Amyloid formation is mainly affected by genetic factors and environmental factors. Amyloid gene mutations cause A¦Â production In addition to increasing A¦Â production, presenilin gene mutations also affect intracellular signaling and make cells prone to apoptosis. ApoE¦Å4 is a genetic risk factor for the onset of AD. After recognizing the key role of amyloid deposition in the onset of AD, , people have designed a series of strategies to prevent amyloid deposition and clear formed plaques to prevent AD. This review reviews the research progress on factors affecting amyloid deposition and measures to intervene in A¦Â deposition.
