Abstract

In order to provide scientific basis for the selection and improvement of high-quality wheat varieties in my country, the composition and distribution of HMW-GS and LMW-GS of 235 popularized varieties and advanced lines in my country were analyzed using SDS-PAGE method. The results showed that HMW-GS and LMW-GS had 39 and 40 band pattern combinations respectively; a total of 34 alleles were found at 5 loci. Glu-A1, Glu-B1 and Glu-D1 have 3, 8 and 6 mutation sites respectively; subunit 1, Null, 7+9, 5+10 and 2+12 are the main HMW-GS types, with frequencies of 46.2%, 46.2%, 44.5%, 47.0% and 48.3%. Glu-A3 and Glu-B3 sites (Glu-D3 is not involved in this article) have 6 and 11 mutation sites respectively. Glu-A3c, Glu-A3d, Glu-B3e and Glu-B3j are the main LMW-GS types, with frequencies of 55.1%, 21.6%, 28% and 28.8% respectively. This study also found that at the Glu-D1 site of varieties Z75 and Mianyang 96-319, the subunit combination form is 5+12; at the Glu-D1 site of variety Zhou 92034, the subunit combination form is 2+10. Although the frequency of these two combined forms in this study was low, these two subunit combinations rarely appeared in previous studies.
