Abstract

Calcineurin B ike protein (CBL), as a type of calcium ion-binding protein, binds to a type of protein kinase (CBL interacting protein kinase, ClPK), thereby regulating calcium signal-dependent physiological and biochemical processes. play a role in. In this study, TaCIPK16, a gene in the CIPK family, was cloned from stripe rust-induced wheat leaves, and its functional characteristics were analyzed using qRT PCR technology, yeast two-hybrid technology and subcellular localization technology. Sequence analysis showed that TaCIPK16 encodes 447 amino acids, contains a conserved kinase catalytic domain and regulatory domain, and is highly similar to rice and Arabidopsis CIPK proteins. Yeast two-hybrid analysis showed that TaCIPK16 strongly interacts with TaCBL4 and TaCBL9. Quantitative analysis showed that TaCIPK16 was induced by stripe rust fungus and showed a significant differential expression trend during the interaction between wheat and stripe rust fungus. In summary, TaCIPK16 may serve as a positive regulator involved in wheat’s defense response to stripe rust.
