Abstract

The effects of heavy metals Hg2+ and Cd2+ on the chlorophyll content, peptide components and photochemical properties of the photosynthetic membrane of the overwintering buds of aquatic plant Water shield were studied. Experimental results show that after treatment with Hg2+ at a concentration of 1mmol/L, the chlorophyll content of the leaf photosynthetic membrane, chlorophyll a/b value, room temperature absorption spectrum, fluorescence emission spectrum, and photosystem electron transfer activity showed a downward trend; when the Hg2+ treatment concentration exceeded 2mmol/L When exposed, the chlorophyll content and other photochemical activities of the leaves’ photosynthetic membranes decreased significantly, and the polypeptide components of the photosynthetic membranes also degraded. The photosynthetic membrane of stems is less sensitive to Hg2+ than that of leaves. After the overwintering buds of water shield were treated with different concentrations of Cd2+ (2, 5, 10mmol/L), the chlorophyll content and photochemical activity of the photosynthetic membrane also changed accordingly, but the degree was weaker than that treated with Hg2+; similarly, the photosynthetic membrane of its leaves was sensitive to 2+ Stronger than stem
