Abstract
To explore the effects of mulberry leaf-balsam pear mixed powder on blood sugar, blood lipids, and antioxidant capacity in normal mice, and to provide a reference for evaluating whether mulberry leaf-balsam pear mixed powder is suitable for normal people. Normal mice were administered mulberry leaf-balsam pear mixture with different mass concentrations for 30 days, and related indicators of body weight, blood glucose concentration, glucose tolerance, lipid metabolism and antioxidant were measured. The results showed that compared with the control group, the mulberry leaf-balsam pear mixed powder significantly inhibited the increase in body weight of normal mice, and the effect tended to be stable with the increase of the intragastric mass concentration; when 0.20 g/mL mulberry leaf-balsam pear mixed powder was administered, It has no significant effect on blood sugar concentration. The area under the blood sugar curve of female and male mice decreased by 14.18% and 15.69% respectively. The liver glycogen content increased by 1.93 and 1.98 times respectively. The serum total cholesterol concentration decreased by 17.19% and 18.92% respectively. The glycerol concentration Triester concentrations decreased by 15.00% and 16.79% respectively, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations decreased by 41.67% and 45.83% respectively, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations increased by 64.52% and 72.22% respectively; liver malondialdehyde levels decreased by 36.71% and 37.73% respectively. %, superoxide dismutase activity increased by 41.77% and 48.41% respectively, and glutathione peroxidase activity increased by 29.04% and 27.21% respectively. Mulberry leaf-bitter melon mixed powder can regulate blood sugar, blood lipid levels and antioxidant function in normal mice without causing adverse effects on health.
