Effects Of Soybean Active Peptides On High Cholesterol Metabolism In Rats

Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of dietary soybean active peptides on plasma cholesterol and related blood lipid indicators in hypercholesterolemia model rats, and to study its possible mechanism of action. Methods Four-week-old weaned male Wistar rats were induced with hypercholesterolemia for 28 days. The animals were divided into two groups according to body weight and total plasma cholesterol concentration, and were fed with pure synthetic high-fat feed containing soybean active peptides and casein respectively. On day 56, the animal was killed by decapitation. The experimental results were analyzed statistically using SPSS statistical software (single-factor F test). Results After 28 days of inducing the high-fat model, the TC level of the experimental model rats was (2.02¡À0.27) mmol/L (n=21), while the negative control group rats fed basic feed were (1.33¡À0.20) mmol. /L(n=9). The plasma total cholesterol (TC) concentration of the hypercholesterolemia model rats was 1.51 times that of the negative control group. After feeding feed containing treatment factors for 56 days, the weight of the experimental animals in the casein group and the soybean active peptide group increased by (198.5 and 119.3) g respectively; the TC levels were (6.41¡À0.57) and (3.01¡À0.37) mmol/ L; TG levels were (3.73¡À0.70) and (1.09¡À0.34) mmol/L respectively; apoB were (0.62¡À0.11) and (0.31¡À0.07) g/L respectively; FT4 were (1.03¡À0.22) and (1.76) respectively. ¡À0.30) pmol/L; compared with the casein group, the animal body weight and TC, TG, and apoB contents in the soybean active peptide group were significantly reduced, while the FT4 level was significantly higher than the casein group (P<0.05). Conclusion Dietary intake of soybean active peptides can reduce the concentrations of TC, TG and apoB and increase the plasma FT4 content in hypercholesterolemia model rats, but has no effect on the levels of HDL-C, apoA, FT3, TSH and insulin. It can be seen that soybean active peptides can affect plasma cholesterol levels by changing apoB and FT4 content, but its corresponding mechanism needs further exploration.
