Abstract

The effects of soybean/corn intercropping model and fertilization on the occurrence and development of soybean downy mildew and the growth of soybean and corn were studied. The results show that soybean/corn intercropping can significantly reduce the incidence and disease index of soybean downy mildew; and in the intercropping system, the incidence and disease index of soybean downy mildew in the fertilization treatment are lower than those in the non-fertilization treatment. Soybean/corn intercropping significantly affected the growth of soybean and corn, and the aboveground biomass of soybean and corn differed significantly between different fertilization treatments. Fertilization significantly promotes the growth of corn. The above-ground biomass of corn treated with fertilization in intercropping and monoculture is significantly higher than that in the unfertilized treatment. The effect of fertilization on the above-ground biomass of soybean monoculture is not significant. The above-ground biomass of soybean treated with fertilizer in intercropping system is not significant. The aboveground biomass was significantly lower than that of the unfertilized treatment.
