Relative Molecular Mass Diversity Of Crude Venom Peptides Of Chinese Wolf Spider

Abstract

Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography was used to separate the crude venom of male Chinese wolf spider, and then MALDI¨CTOF¨CTOF mass spectrometry was used to determine the relative molecular mass. The results showed that a total of 195 toxin polypeptide components were identified from the crude venom of male Chinese Wolf Spider. The relative molecular masses of these toxin polypeptides ranged from 1 000 to 10 000, and the relative molecular masses of most of the polypeptides ranged from 1 000 to 3 500 and 4 500~7 500. The relative molecular mass distribution characteristics of these toxin polypeptides are different from those reported for other spiders, which may be because the toxin components of different species of spiders have different diversity characteristics.
