Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between lipoprotein(a) and the incidence of cerebral infarction in young people. Methods The lipoprotein(a) and triglycerides, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein A¢ñ, apolipoprotein B, etc. were detected in 90 patients with cerebral infarction aged 16 to 45 years old. Analyze the patient’s factors such as high blood pressure, smoking, drinking, and family history of stroke. Results Compared with the control group, lipoprotein(a) in patients with cerebral infarction was not significantly increased. However, triglycerides and apolipoprotein B were significantly increased in patients with cerebral infarction. Correlation analysis showed that lipoprotein(a) was positively correlated with serum total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (P<0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that the relative risk odds ratio (OR) of high lipoprotein(a) was 0.74, 95%CI: 0.27~1.98. The OR value of high triglycerides for cerebral infarction is 3.57, 95%CI: 1.34-9.49; the OR value of high blood pressure for cerebral infarction is 8.18, 95%CI: 2.54-26.33; the OR value of heart disease for cerebral infarction is 8.51 , its 95%CI: 2.27¡«31.85; the OR value of smoking is 3.21, 95%CI: 1.27¡«8.13. Conclusion Lipoprotein(a) may not be a risk factor for cerebral infarction in young people.
