Preparation Of Rice Starch Acetate With High Degree Of Substitution By Ultrasonic Intensification
Acetate with a high degree of substitution (DS>2) is widely used in the field of polymers due to its thermoplasticity and hydrophobicity. Using rice starch as raw material and p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst, in a glacial acetic acid/acetic anhydride system, an ultrasonic strengthening method was used to prepare highly substituted acetate starch, and the product was characterized by FTIR, XRD and SEM. The effects of ultrasonic time, ultrasonic temperature, and ultrasonic power on the degree of substitution (DS) of rice starch acetate were investigated, and the ultrasonic conditions were optimized using response surface methodology. The optimal process was obtained as follows: ultrasonic time is 15.67 min, ultrasonic temperature The temperature was 31.33¡ãC and the ultrasonic power was 85.60W. Under these conditions, the degree of substitution of the obtained acetate starch was 2.77. It can be seen from the FTIR spectrum that acetate starch has characteristic peaks of acetyl groups at 1750cm-1, 1433cm-1, 1375cm-1 and 1239cm-1, proving that acetate starch with a high degree of substitution was successfully produced. XRD and SEM results showed that the structure of starch was completely destroyed after acetylation. The research results provide a basis for the industrial production of highly substituted starch acetate.
