Abstract

The protein synthesis and secretion and polypeptide synthesis of the mutant strain NX47 of Geotrichum candidum AS 2.198 and Rhodotoru-ta aurantiacam AS 2.280 were synchronized with cell growth in the early stage of culture. All or most of the synthesized proteins are stored in the pericellular space and are then secreted from the pericellular space to the outside of the cell through the cell wall. The composition of the medium and the culture time have no significant effect on the protein components. All synthesized polypeptides are stored within cells. The mutant strain NX47 secretes proteins slowly and peptides rapidly. Its secretory capacity depends on the structure of the cell wall, which is divided into three layers. The polypeptide is not secreted in the early stages of culture, and is rapidly secreted from the cell to the outside of the cell through the plasma membrane and cell wall until it enters the late logarithmic growth phase. The secretion time lags behind its synthesis by more than one day. The cell wall of strain AS 2.280 does not have a three-layer structure, but it can quickly secrete proteins, but not polypeptides.
