Abstract

my country’s soybean yield per hectare is only 1.83t, which is 0.7~0.9t lower than that of major foreign soybean-producing countries. In recent years, my country has imported 25 to 27 million tons annually. Significantly exceeds my country’s total soybean output, which is about 17 million tons per year. Therefore, increasing soybean yield per unit area and increasing total soybean output are the main tasks of the soybean industry. Through the work of the past 15 years, three soybean varieties with more than 4.5t/hm2 have been developed through cross-breeding: Zhonghuang 13, Zhonghuang 19 and Zhonghuang 35. Among them, Zhonghuang 13 has become the one with the largest promotion area in all provinces in Guanhai. Soybean varieties have been promoted to 224,000 hectares in 2005, ranking third in the country.
